DIRECTOR Q&A

OR: What was the inspiration for your film?

BY: My inspiration came from past experiences from friends and family.

OR: When did you conceive the idea for your film and how long did it take before it was realized?

BY: I conceived the idea a week before sitting down and writing the script. It started as a play, but I knew I wanted to film it so it took several rewrites before getting it to a place where we could go into production.

OR: What was the most challenging aspect of working in a short film format?

BY: After filming, the most challenging part was cutting the film down from 36 minutes to 20. Getting rid of scenes and having to figure out a way to still tell the story.

OR: What was the most challenging aspect of your production?

BY: The most challenging was working with such a small budget. We only raised 5k for the film when our estimated cost was 10k.

OR: Do you have any advice for first-time filmmakers?

BY: LOVE what you do because the hours are endless, the work is hard, but no matter the struggle, you’re telling a story. Work hard and I guarantee it will pay off.
